Final Sport Science Sport

Kia ora readers this week we have been working on our final Sport Science Project, and we need to answer the questions.

HERE ARE MY ANSWERS

What tests did we do? To test our power we did a standing vertical jump, to test muscular endurance we did a plank, for speed we did a timed 30-meter sprint, for flexibility we tried to touch our toes, for agility we did an agility course, for the strength we saw how long we could hang from a bar, for coordination we threw a ball at a wall with one hand and caught it with the other for seconds, for balance we saw how long we could stand on our toes on one foot, for cardiovascular endurance we did the beep test, and for reaction time we had someone else drop a ruler and we then saw how fast we could catch it.

What were you trying to improve? The things I was trying to improve the most were power and coordination. 

How did you improve those skills? To improve these I did squats for power and catching with a partner for coordination.

Did you improve on any skills? I did improve on strength, muscular endurance, flexibility, coordination, reaction time, speed, power, and balance.

Why do you think you improved on those skills? I think that I improved on those skills because I practiced them all during the practices so I could improve.

Which skills do you want to spend more time improving on and how are you going to improve? I would like to improve more on my power and I will do this by doing squats every day to try and improve.

BEAST: I want to find my loved one! Hurry Up Plates???

PLATE: Yes Sir, Right Away 

POTTS: Beast How is Plate going to find your loved one, He’s a PLATE!

BEAST: Very Well! I will send mails to all ladies out there, come to my castle and kiss the one i Love the most.

POTTS: Ok Sir. (Scared Voice) 

         The Beast Sitting down Quietly On his Golden chair. Madly.

                                They waited for 2 hours

POTT: Hey Beast! Their ladys waiting outside for you.

                   The Beast Stood up Quickly, and rush to the door

BEAST: Welcome Ladies!

                   Women's Stood still and stare at him Scaredly 

WOMANS: Runnnnnnnnnn…... A devil 

                The Beast got Very Aggressive and Attracted the ladies.

BEAST: I’m gonna eat all of you!!!

POTTS: Beast Noooo, Don’t hurt them.

     There was one Lady that caught the Beast antittion.

BEAST: Hello My lady, you are the right one for me

BELLE: Very Good to me you BEAST, I’m Belle

                                      Handshake

BEAST: Kiss me Under the Apple tree

BELLE: But there's Wolf protecting the apple tree

BEAST: Right, Ohh, They are also scared of the sun, and so am i

BELLE: How are we gonna do this?

BEAST: I don’t Know, Let’s go inside.

                                    Both Going inside

POTTS: Hey Sir,  

BELLE: AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH (LOUD SCARED VOICE)

BEAST: Sorry about that, That's Pott.

BELLE: Talking…….

BEAST: YEP Talking Pott

BELLE: Oh..

BEAST: Ok, all I want is.. To be back to human again, that is why I Found my Love one, to kiss me, and turned me back.

BELLE: Ok First Tell me what happened.

BEAST: My Parents told me never to eat an apple from that tree (Points to the tree)  But I ate it, After I ate I thought it was a normal apple but… The apple tree was talking, and said, “YOU WILL BE PUNISHED.”I got Home and nothing happened about the punnised the tree gave..

POTTS: Sir Coffee?

BEAST Potts not now!

                                   Potts walks about sadly 

BEAST: Okay, Where were we? Oh yea that day, at night, I got my Punishment, and turned me into this!

BELLE: Sorry to hear that

                                        Beast Tears all over the ground

BELLE: It's gonna be okay now, you have me to turn you back right?

BEAST: Ohh.. yea

      The next day at night they ran to the apple tree.

BELLE: How are we gonna go Under the Apple tree 

BEAST: Wolves like singing, and I can't sing with this voice.

BELLE: Ohh, I can sing.

                Belle Walks up Slowly to the Wolf singing.

BEAST: WOW her voice

BELLE: Goo (Whispered)

BEAST: Oh Yea. 

             Beast runs at the apple tree.

BEAST: Belle Hurry come.

        Belle still sings, and made the wolfs go to sleep

BELLE: Coming

BEAST: Ready?

BELLE: I Think so, YES 

                                   They Kissed, and a few seconds later, the beast changed back to human. 

BELLE: Beast wow your human!! It worked..

BEAST: All thanks to you My lady.

                               THE END 

Balance System

 What Is the Human Balance System? Human Balance is a small inner ear, muscle, and Brain.

What are some techniques you can do to improve your balance? Spinning, Standing, Close Eyes.

Why do people feel dizzy after spinning around? Because the Inner ear is spinning with us and when we stop the inner ear still spins and makes you feel you're still spinning. 

Cinderella (Own Cinderella Story) (Fairytales)

Once upon a time, there was a little girl called Cinderella, she grew older, and found her mum's boots, under her mum's bed, the boots were so shiny, she tried on the shiny boots after she wore her mum's boots, she was floating in the air, she was so amazed of the boot so she took it around. After that night, her Stepmom came to visit her house, she was so mean to Cinderella, tell her to do all the jobs at her own house, her two stepsisters saw the boots that cinderella was wearing, they pushed her and took the shiny boots away from her. 

The next morning there was a newspaper in front of the door, they had a look at it, and it says if you have the best shiny boots u date the king. The two stepsisters were so happy, but they were also mad at each other cause the boots were only for one person, so the stepmom gave them to the good-looking one.

When they all get to meet Prince William, they locked Cinderella, in a tall farm gate. The two stepsisters Drove to the prince, they saw the prince they rushed at him. The Prince was feeling Awkward. Cinderella was crying so loud, so she saw a pig, that pig was magical, the pig had wings, he could fly, The pig told Cinderella to hop on his back, to go over the tall gate. 

The pig told Cinderella what happen, Cinderella Replied, I JUST WANTED TO GO MEET THE PRINCE, the pig was in tears when he heard that, so the pig told Cinderella, there is still time, so Cinderella run as fastest as she could and wore her Grandma's, dress, It was so clean she liked, she also saw the shiny boots under the stepsister's bed, she wore it, and the boots were so BRIGHT. 

So she said she was ready, but the pig said no NOT YET, Cinidareella was so confused. The pig took off his wings and gave them to Cinderella. Cinderella was so Happy, she shot out WOW so loud. she was ready. Cinderella said wheres my ride, pig said I'm YOUR RIDE, The pig grew another wing so they could fly to the prince castle before the gate is closed when they got there, Cinderella Went inside, She walked slowly down the stairs, and saw the prince, the prince looked at her, the prince walked straight at her, and said " YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL. Cinderella replied, Thank You, My Prince. Then they started talking to each other, the two step-sisters were so jealous, so they confront her by stealing their boots. 

Cinderella didn't care about the boots, so she gave them to them, One sister wore the boots cause they thought the prince liked the boots, but the prince didn't actually care about the Boots either, Because he was in love with Cinderella, the Stepmother was so upset at her daughters for not wearing the boots at the first place, The Prince shouted out, I DON'T CARE ABOUT HE BOOTS!!!!!! I'm IN LOVE WITH CINDERELLA !!.

The next morning they were planning on getting married. They got Married Cindarerlla became Queen and Prince William Became King, THEY LIVED HAPPILY EVER AFTER.

FairyTales (Rapunzel)

Why do you think texts change over time? Maybe the text changes over time because it is suitable for children.

How come each version we have to read of rapunzel is different, even though they have been written by the same author? Because every author has a different timeline.

What was the same or different in the two versions your read? In the first story of Rapunzel, she has vanished, but in the second one, rapunzel was pregnant.

Author research (Brothers Grimm)

 Author research

Where are they from? The brothers Grimm grew up in Hanau Germany

What stories did they write? The Pied Piper of Hamelin, The king of the golden mountain, and Snow White.

When did they create their stories? They started in 1812 and finished in 1858, They published their first story in 1812, and their last one was the Rumpelstiltskin

Have their stories been adapted into more modern stories ex) Disney, Pixar films? The Frog Prince, Snow White, Rapunzel, and The Elves and the shoemaker.

Vocabulary.

What are the differences between Myths, legends, Fairytales, and Fables? 

Myths: Myth is a traditional story, like how to treat people in good ways and also about how we gonna change the world to a better one. 

Fairytales: Fairytale is a traditional story movie for kids, that always starts with " Once Upon A Time" and its Magical 

Legends: Legend is people that are living like legends. 

Fables: Fable is a traditional book about animals, and they are for kids.

Hurumanu 6 (PE)

Kia ora readers, 

for the past 4 weeks in Hurumanu 6, PE we did gymnastics and what I learned was really hard, and some were easy, we have been using 6 apparatus, Parallel Bars, Mini tramp, Floor, Beam Horizontal, and trampoline. The one challenge for me was the Parallel Bars it was hard to swing to the other side and also the back dismount. My favorite one was the mini-tramp because it was fun doing all the activities.

ESOLD Term 3

1. What was the best lesson and why? The best lesson in ESOLD this term was the listening test, and it was quiet too

2. What did you enjoy doing and why? I enjoyed working with friends so we can help out each other

3. What was one task you were proud of and why? My favorite task was the wonder novel, and it's a really cool novel.

4. What is something you could do differently / better next term? Don't talk while the teacher or student is talking. and also work with the person you work perfectly with.

Electroplaing with copper

 Kia ora,

Readers today in Hurumanu 5 Science, we were working on electroplating with copper. You have to put your clips onto the positive and negative terminals of power supplies.

Equipment: Safety glasses, beaker, power supplies, wires with clips, copper sulfate solution.

Discussion: Copper in the blue solution was cu2+(Blue part), with an electrical current turned into Cu (orange metal) on the negative electrode.

Hur6 PE

Kia ora,

 readers today in PE when have been learning a  lot about badminton and how to play.

If the sever, serves to the other side of the net they get a point and they serve again, and if it goes out or doesn't get past the net is the opposite team's ball. 

You can play badminton in singles pairs, or two in each team, or 4 teams.

If you hit the shuttlecock or don't hit it back over the net, and it falls to the ground, so you might win 3-0, 2-1, or 2-0 

If  the teams are both on 20 points in a game, the winner must get two points ahead to win, eg, 22-20

What is the difference between rock music vs classical music?

The difference between rock music and classical, rock music is loud and its rhythm is usually fast too, and when they start playing rock music they get their rock music instruments and play so loud and sing loud. 
Classical music is a nice sound and it's also relaxing like it's not loud or anything. It just feels like you're so comfortable, and it also makes you sleepy.
